Being a SunStudio fan …
Using SUN’s stuff for longer than I can remember now I have been pretty impressed by the quality of the new generation of tools coming out of the sunstudio team. They managed to make even totaly untalented programmers like me being able to use things like performance analyzers, tread analyzers etc .. and herewith make one of my favourite tasks , which is porting applications from allover the place to my favorite OS (now guess what ? its solaris 10 …) much simpler (not to forget about dtrace, which helps immensely already). Taking into account the already enormous documentation, videocast tutorials, and the always very very helpful sunstudio team, which actually answers promptly to requests on any means of communications by any means of communication, this has become my absolute favorite tool.

Now besides all the tools, information, documentation and loads of free support, you also get am incredibly performant compiler suite for c++, c and fortran in a box, so what more could you ask for ??
