SipXpbx 3.4 enters stable release mode

Posted in VoIP on August 4th, 2006 by Michal Bielicki

As the roadmap says, the following improvements where done:

The objective with release 3.4 is to add CDR recording and make it available in a stable release as quickly as possible. CDR recording is a key feature for most of the larger deployments of sipX.

Release 3.4 Comments
CDR Reports Call Detail Records (CDRs) will be stored in a PostgreSQL database. This database will reside either on the sipX host or a different dedicated host. The design is optimized for performance. An additional CDR report generator (future) will allow the creation of custom reports. Third party report generatrors may be used to customize views based on raw database information. The CDR Database will also support the new HA configuration with redundant proxy and registrar servers. Call State Events will be collected from all the proxy and registrar servers and reporting will take into account cases where a call starts on one proxy but terminates on another because of a failover condition.
Auto-Attendant Improvements Additional configuration parameters were added to the Auto-Attendant: Inter-digit timeout, overall DTMF timeout value, and maximum length of DTMFs.

We have it running here at our premises and it works like a charm. A big thankyou to everybody involved in making this release happen.

Since I couldn’t make it this year to chicago I am listening to all the presentations live over conference call and am really impressed how interesting this years program is. A multitude of usefull information and project presentations, starting from the latest information about the SofaSwitch project and its multitude combination facilities to other projects, over SipFoundry’s work on creating a common place for all things SIP to reports from all the other Voice places on the net. I am curious how the jingle roundtable will go :)
